5-6 March

Wakkerstroom eXplore began in 2021 and offers riders a bit of ‘High Altitude’ training or an awesome weekend breakaway with family and friends.

We now introduce the WAKKERSTROOM eXperience in 2022, which offers shorter routes each day, and still remains scenic, enjoyable and invigorating.

The Wakkerstroom eXplore on 5-6 March 2022 is also perfectly suited for training for ULTRA events, with an altitude starting at 1760m above sea level – we will regularly hit 2000m above and even higher 😉

An Awesome weekend breakaway

If you’re planning on riding in the Wakkerstroom area, you’ll want to make sure you don’t skip leg day. With either a 122 kms or the 55km shorter ride of well-maintained district route and alpine elevations (think 2000m) stretched in front of you, you’ll experience a sense of wonder. What adventures could await you and your trusty bike? Picture this: You’re cruising along breath-taking vistas, actually out of breath but adrenaline pumping. You can almost taste the ice-cold water and suddenly a water point comes onto your horizon. It’s a waterfall! What a welcome sight. You can’t wait to submerge yourself in its cool water for a refreshing swim. The thrill of adventure is too exciting not to share. Bring your family along to meet you (there will be no road closures) on the route so that they can also experience the jaw dropping splendour. Remember to be careful and courteous to other rider’s family members when en route. Of course, we encourage you to soak it all in and be in the moment but don’t forget to snap some shots of the view, the laughs, and the tears.
